Mort

a review by Brian Connolly

Mort-A miracle

This book is a hook to catch any reader. Mort was the first Terry Pratchett book I read and after that I was like a fish to water. This novel captures the readers attention over every page. You are immediately drawen into this ongoing tale and just when you think it couldn't get any better it takes another step towards being one of Pratchetts best novels.

As soon as the book is opened you begin to wonder what you ever saw in other books and hope that the book is not drawen from your hands as your eyes are prised open. As fiction begins fact your mind will be taken on a journey as Mort struggles to find his calling. Death is certainly a major factor when trying to get to grips with the Discworld Series and this acts a suitable introduction to his on going role. This book seems to be stuck out from the rest of the series as being unique. But that is no bad thing, and it certainly does act as a taster as to what is to come in further books. Really this book is a spectacular piece that is something of a miracle for modern writers.
