Since the incident, Supergirl has dominated the personality of Linda, though strong impressions still remain. * DANVERS, LINDA LEE - The secret identity of SUPERGIRL(2), Superman's cousin. * DARKSEID - Ruler of APOKOLIPS and
occasional foe of Superman. * DAWNSTAR - Native of the 30th Century Colony STARHAVEN and member of the LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, Dawnstar is a mutant who can fly and track unerringly through any distance or obstacle. * DC COMICS - The comic book company which produces the adventures of the SUPERMAN family of characters. * DELGADO, JOSE - Social worker, substitute teacher, bodyguard, and the man who is secretly GANGBUSTER. * DEMEOS BUILDING - The luxurious construction of PETER DEMEOS, reclusive METROPOLIS millionaire. In March 1973 (Superman#262 "The Building That Screamed For Its Life"), it is discovered that the building is inhabited by a supernatural being known as the NINUKAB. Superman exorcises the creature by completely destroying the then-automated building. * DEMEOS, PETER - A Greek emigre and wealthy recluse in METROPOLIS. Rising from poverty in his homeland, Demeos comes to Metropolis and there builds a fortune, culminating in his construction of the DEMEOS BUILDING, home of a troublesome NINUKAB. In March 1973 (Superman#262 "The Building That Screamed For Its Life"), Demeos reacts to his near-death at his own building by committing himself to writing a series of books based on his personal philosophies. * DeROY, BEN - Pseudonym used by MISTER MXYZPTLK in November 87 (Superman vol.2#11, "The Name Game"). The name is an acronym for "Beyonder," a near-omnipotent Marvel Comics character to which Ben DeRoy bore a remarkable resemblance. * DILBERT, "TEACH" - A scientific-minded criminal who, in November 1971 (Superman #244 "The Electronic Ghost of Metropolis") attempts to claim credit for the destruction wreaked by the electronic GHOST of METROPOLIS. Claiming his WRAITH-RAISER is the tool responsible for the creature's creation, he is exposed when Superman determines the Wraith-Raiser is merely a hollow box. * DOC PARASITE - The amalgamated
creature formed when the PARASITE managed to absorb, body and soul, DOCTOR
TORVAL FREEMAN. The combined intellects and personalities of the two men
trade off control of the Parasite's body. * DOCTOR FATE (1) - Secretly KENT
NELSON who wears the helm of NABU, a powerful LORD OF ORDER. Fate has
been a member of the JUSTICE SOCIETY, JUSTICE LEAGUE and the ALL-STAR
SQUADRON. * DOCTOR LIGHT (1) - An often less-than
competent super-villain and occasional foe of the Justice League. * DOCTOR REGULUS - 30th Century madman and villain, common foe of the LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES. Zaxton Regulus commands powers similar to those of SUN BOY, but requires his suit made of RADIOACTIVE GOLD to supply his powers. * DREAM GIRL - Prophetess of the 30th Century LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, NURA NAL (sister of Mysa, the WHITE WITCH, and native of NALTOR) possess the ability to glimpse the future in states of dreaming or waking fugue. * DROTHO - A native KRYPTONian animal, a large sea-bird which fed chiefly on SILTEN. * DRYAD - Planetary home of the silicon-based lifeforms which eventually produce the 30th Century LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES member, BLOK. * DRYGUR - KRYPTONESE. Noun, approx. "leader," with functions equivalent to an American President. Drygur Moliom refers to the leader of the SCIENCE COUNCIL. * DUO DAMSEL - LUORNU DURGO-Taine (nee Durgo) is an a typical member of the planet CARGGG in the 30th Century. Due to injuries sustained with the LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, Luornu cannot separate into 3 distinct yet identical selves (see TRIPLICATE GIRL for information on when she could), but only into two. She is married to Chuck Taine (BOUNCING BOY). * DUPLICATE BOY - ORD QUELU (sometimes Quelu Ord) is possibly the most powerful superhuman of the 30th Century. One of the HEROES OF LALLOR, Ord can duplicate the powers of any superhuman being or race in the 30th Century universe. Luckily for the forces of evil, he has historically lacked the imagination and perception to use this ability with any perceptible level of aplomb. * DURLA - Home of a race of shapeshifters, including 30th century hero CHAMELEON BOY, and a pivotal race of the INVASION! www.steelcaves.com
