Chapter 4 Dawn came early and we had barely recovered from our "wedding night." I kissed them good morning and said "Hi, I am Pepper O'Connor." They laughed and said yes you are. Pat said, "We are Catholic and we should seal our relationship in the Church." "Fine by me," I said. "Wait," said Mike, "the Church won't allow us to marry a third person." "They will have to," replied Pat. This is the only way human beings can reproduce now, as male, female and triune. The Church has no choice but to change." "I am so happy that I don't care," I said. "We must do it in the Church or our children will not be legitimate." "Then we do the Church thing," I said. "After we do it again!" We lay back down and did it again. I wondered vaguely if I was entitled to wear white. Ah who cares! We left for Oregon that day with a petulant Ten Speed in tow. It sulked all the way to our new home because I had mated and it hadn't. I still didn't know where that air brain, Jo Jo, was. But I knew it would show up sooner or later. The three of us cuddled and cooed each other on the long flight home. We never saw the envious and venomous stares of the other passengers. Our minds were everywhere and nowhere. Picture yourself on a boat on a river with tangerine Trees and marmalade skies. Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly, a girl with Kaleidoscope eyes. Cellophane flowers of yellow and green towering over Your head. Lucy in the sky with diamonds Lucy in the sky with diamonds, ah, ah. Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain where Rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies, Everyone smiles as you drift Past the flowers that grow so incredibly high. Newspaper taxis appear on the shore Waiting to take you away. Climb in the back your head in the clouds and you're gone. Lucy in the sky with diamonds Lucy in the sky with diamonds ah, ah. Picture yourself on a train in a station With plasticine porters with looking glass ties. Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile The girl with kaleidoscope eyes Lucy in the sky with diamonds Lucky in the sky with diamonds Ah, ah.
