One Minute Interview with Charles Anders

1.Tell us about yourself

Charles Anders is a harmful eccentric, a sheep in women's clothing, and a
bastion of the moral non-sequitur.

2.When was your first sale? And to which magazine?

My first sale, to the late lamented magazine Au Juice, was a weird SF story
called "How I Survived The Fataclysm, or Life And Death On 5,000 Calories A
Day." The magazine died before it could print my epic of a future holocaust
which only the obese survived.

3.What sort of writer are you? The old fashioned type, slaving away over
a parchment, with a pot of ink, a quill and a candle, or the modern man, own office and PC?

Office and PC, but I also use a notebook and pen for rough drafts.

4.Has the emergence of the internet helped or hindered writers?

Helped, if only because of the availability of market information.

5.Whats better Buffy? Or Angel?

Buffy.

6.What advice would you give to any other aspiring writers?

Stop aspiring and start writing.

7.How do you feel about the move from hard copy books to downloadable
internet stories, is it really the end of the printed word?

Not for a good long time yet, but maybe eventually.

8.What author or authors work inspired you to become a writer?

Hmmm... Maybe Doris Lessing. Or Iain Banks.

9.Terry Pratchett is the UKs biggest selling living author, have you
read any of his work?

I've read "Good Omens," his collaboration with Neil Gaiman.

10.If you had to be a character in Star Wars who would you be?

Third Jawa from the left. Or maybe Leia.

11.Have you ever been to London, UK?

Yes -- I lived in the UK for many years.

12.Blair Witch II, good idea or cash in?

Good idea.

13.Describe your writing process

Hours of procrastination followed by a few minutes of scribbling and
cursing, followed by hours more of procrastination.

14.If you had the choice to work full time writing trashy romance novels,
never having time for your own work, would you compromise and do it?

Probably not -- I already make a living as a writer, and I have time to do
my own creative work.

15.What does the future hold for you (hopefully)?

With any luck, I'm going to have a novel done soon, as well as a non-fiction
book. I'll keep you posted!
