Winter’s Heart by Robert Jordan A review |
|
There will be much rejoicing at the release of Winter’s Heart, the ninth book in the mega best-selling The Wheel of Time series. The last book The Path of Daggers was a New York Times best-seller and Winter’s Heart continues on with that quality. Rand is on the run with Min, Cadsuane in Carhien on the other hand is trying to figure out when they are heading for. His destination is one that she never considered. The leader of the black tower, Mazrim Taim, is revealed to be a liar but just what is he up to. Faile, Bain, Chiad, Queen Alliandre and Morgase are prisoners of Sevanna’s sept. Perrin is hunting for Faile, with Elyas Machera, the Prophet, berelain and an army of disparate forces. Meanwhile in ebou Dar, the Seanchan princess , Daughter of the Nine moons arrives, and Mat, who has been recovering in the Tarasin Palace meets her. Will the marriage that has been foretold come to be? There is no praise too high for this book, Jordan holds the readers interest and shows us a strange world like a modern day Tolkien. The battle scenes are intense and almost read like first hand accounts of a real battle and the prose is just what you expect for Jordan. Winter’s Heart, book nine in an series that is getting better and better. |
